The Temora branch of Apex
is sponsoring a 320 km walk from Canberra to Sydney via
Wollongong. The walk leaves Canberra on the the 8th of March
and ends in Sydney on the 16th of the same month. This walk
was instigated by Stephen Drum - a young man who was in Cebu
recently and visited BDCC (Bethlehem Day Care Centre). He was
extremely moved by what he witnessed over there that he
returned to Sydney so inspired to help the families of the
children of BDCC.
All proceeds of the walk
will go towards the construction of a work centre at San Pio
Village to augment the incomes of the new home owners as
a substitute to scavenging at the garbage dump site.
