Jason Gadd

Jason has left Australia to take up a 10-month voluntary position in San Pio Village as an instructor to the HOPs (Home Owner Partners). He is experienced in the building industry and his role will be to assist the HOPs in painting and adding the finishing touches to the 40 completed houses.

C4C (Communities for Communities)

C4C has done it again! It has just provided more funds for the building of the Work Centre at the San Pio Village. This time they successfully raised AUD $50,000.00 which will go into the construction of a two story brick building. The Work Centre will be used as a teaching facility to help the HOPs (Home Owner Partners) learn new livelihood skills.

From the bottom of our hearts, we say "Thank you C4C"! We are extremely grateful for the never ending support of Lance Brooks and his very dedicated and hardworking team.

WYD08 (World Youth Day 2008)

There is great excitement in the air as preparations are currently being made for the arrival of the University of the Visayas choir on late June. The choir will be here to participate in the upcoming World Youth Festivities.

The UV Chorale, composed of 25 very talented young university students recently won silver medal for the ethnic category and bronze medal for the mixed classical category at the recent Busan Choral Festival held in South Korea on October 31 - November 03, 2007. It was a very impressive victory indeed considering the members are quite young (15 to 22 years old), it was their first attempt to join the competition and they were up against 39 professional choral groups from Asia, America and Europe.

The choir became the public face of Bethlehem Communities Australia having visited Sydney twice before. Just like their previous visits, they will tour regional NSW to bring spiritual experience to those who are not able to attend the WYD08 in Sydney.
