We have 4 programs in Cebu . Our main program is the building of "San Pio Village". This exciting new program involves the relocation of 360 families, currently living a-hand-to-mouth-existence in rubbish tips or in basic shanty areas, to a purposely built village named San Pio Village. Through community development and educational initiatives the program aims to pave a better way of life for these families who have been taught to support each other in achieving a viable future for themselves and especially for their children. Our main partners in Cebu are "Communities for Communities" and "Habitat for Humanity". Both are helping to provide funds for the San Pio Village project. Click here for information on our partners >>

The rural Dulangan community located near Digos City in Mindanao is made up of either farmers or seasonal agricultural workers. They are in dire need of decent and safe houses. Most families are living in houses made of flimsy and temporary materials only.

The objective of this program is to assist 70 families to build decent shelters for themselves. Congregated in a community where members have learnt to support each other and understand that cooperation is the key to achieving a bright future for them and their children.

The existing community has already established community spirit by working together to build facilities such as a barangay Hall, a community centre, a health centre, and an elementary school. As per their accepted priorities, it is now time to work together in rebuilding their own houses. BCA, together with Habitat, will assist in funding the building of new houses. Furthermore, BCA will also fund a livelihood project (e.g. a goat farm) to help them generate extra income to afford house repayments. Continue reading >>
