C4C visit to cebu - a huge success!
Lance Brooks, CEO of Communities for Communities (C4C) recently returned from a very successful trip to Cebu . Lance and 22 others left Sydney on 7 th October, for 8 days; the group was keen to see the reality of their fundraising efforts and to work side by side with Habitat for Humanity and the home partners of San Pio Village (SPV) in building their homes. Their ‘hands on' visit and working with the people have truly enriched their lives, plus during their visit they assisted in building 9 homes. C4C have done an incredible work fund raising in Sydney for the BCA program at San Pio Village, in Dumlog and we are very grateful for all their efforts both in Sydney and Cebu . We are sure that this experience will stay with all members for a very long time. THANK YOU AGAIN Lance and C4C!
Lance writes: 'Our week with the families, who will eventually live at San Pio Village, was enough to convince the entire team that every fundraising event and every cent will make a true difference to these families'. Another group member Phil, who went with his 15 year old son, said, ‘we were immersed in a very different culture and worked cooperatively in a communal setting. We were all moved by the beneficiaries realization that we did care about them plus we were doing something worthwhile.' |
